Cassie’s story began with a moment that could have ended everything.

A woman reached out to rescue workers after her son witnessed something deeply disturbing: a group of teenagers throwing a tiny kitten into a fire. Treatment began without delay. Cassie was started on specialized anti-seizure medication, and something remarkable happened. Within the very first day, the seizures stopped completely. For the first time since her rescue, her body was able to rest.

As the neurological storm quieted, Cassie began to change.
