Upon thorough examination—CT scans and ultrasounds—the vet confirmed the severity of Gousheng’s condition. He had partial lung necrosis and fluid in his ear cavity, requiring surgery. However, due to his extreme weakness, Gousheng couldn’t undergo anesthesia, so surgery was delayed. The focus shifted to strengthening his body first.

Nourishment and Care: A Journey of Healing (Day 7 – Day 105)
Gousheng’s journey to recovery began with proper nutrition and constant care. He was fed nutrient-rich meals to help him gain weight and restore his strength. Despite his frailty, Gousheng showed a gentle and friendly disposition toward humans and the other cats in the shelter.
His rescuer made regular visits, providing him with a warm new bed filled with toys, scratching posts, and a heating lamp to ensure he stayed comfortable.
By day 94, Gousheng’s health had improved significantly. He was strong enough to start taking walks and exploring the outdoors, a small but meaningful milestone.
Facing New Challenges
